UI/UX Case Study
About the Project
Rentify is an innovative outfit rental platform designed to make fashion more accessible, sustainable, and affordable. This platform allows users to rent stylish outfits for special occasions, everyday wear, or themed events without the high costs of purchasing. Rentify also empowers individuals to monetize their wardrobes by listing their outfits for rent, creating a circular fashion economy.
With a user-friendly interface and seamless experience, Rentify ensures effortless browsing, booking, and returning of outfits. The platform integrates key features like secure payments, flexible rental periods, owner reviews, and easy return management. By bridging the gap between fashion lovers and outfit lenders, Rentify promotes a smart and eco-conscious approach to clothing consumption.
Problem Statement
In today’s fast-paced fashion industry, consumers often purchase expensive outfits for special occasions, only to wear them once or twice before they become obsolete in their wardrobes. This leads to unnecessary spending, wardrobe clutter, and significant fashion waste. On the other hand, individuals looking for affordable, trendy outfits struggle to find cost-effective and sustainable options without compromising on style.
While existing rental services cater to luxury fashion, there is a gap in the market for a peer-to-peer outfit rental platform that allows everyday users to rent and lend outfits easily. The lack of a structured, secure, and user-friendly rental system makes it difficult for individuals to trust and engage in wardrobe sharing.
Rentify aims to solve this problem by providing a seamless, secure, and accessible platform where users can rent, lend, and return outfits effortlessly. By creating a marketplace that benefits both renters and outfit owners, Rentify promotes affordability, sustainability, and convenience in fashion consumption.

Design Process
I followed a user-centred design approach, ensuring that every aspect of Rentify was built with the needs and behaviours of users in mind. Since this is a personal project, I had the flexibility to explore creative solutions, challenge assumptions, and iterate based on self-driven research and insights.
This process was non-linear and iterative, allowing me to refine the problem space, validate ideas, and enhance usability at every stage. My approach included:
Research & Discovery
Defining the Problem
Ideation & Wireframing
Prototyping & UI Design
Testing & Iteration
Conducted competitor analysis and user research to identify pain points and opportunities.
Synthesized insights into a clear problem statement and user needs.
Explored different UX flows, sketched wireframes, and defined core features.
Created high-fidelity mockups focusing on intuitive navigation and visual appeal.
Gathered feedback from potential users and iterated on the design for better usability.
User Research
To ensure Rentify effectively addresses user needs, I conducted user research using a mix of qualitative and quantitative methods. Since this is a personal project, I relied on self-driven research techniques to gather insights into user behaviour, needs, and motivations.
I circulated surveys to collect data on rental habits, user preferences, and concerns regarding outfit sharing. This provided quantitative insights into user expectations and common pain points. Additionally, I analyzed existing rental platforms to identify gaps and opportunities for improvement.
By combining survey findings with industry research, I was able to define user personas, map key pain points, and design a solution that prioritizes ease of use, trust, and accessibility. These insights shaped Rentify’s core features, ensuring a seamless and enjoyable outfit rental experience.

Style Guide
Typography: Poppins
Poppins (Bold)
Poppins (Medium)
Poppins (Regular)
Poppins (Light)
For Rentify, I chose Poppins as the primary typeface to ensure a modern, clean, and approachable design. Poppins is a geometric sans-serif font that offers a perfect balance of elegance and readability, making it ideal for digital interfaces.
Designed with powerful OpenType features, Poppins supports extended language characters, tabular figures, ligatures, and stylistic alternates. Its consistent letterforms and well-spaced structure enhance usability across different screen sizes, ensuring a seamless reading experience for users.
The use of varied font weights helps create a clear visual hierarchy throughout the app, making key actions, titles, and labels easily distinguishable. By incorporating Poppins, Rentify maintains a sleek, professional, and user-friendly aesthetic.
