Elevating digital experiences with intuitive and user-centric design– CHITRA PATEL
I’m Chitra Patel, a passionate UI/UX Designer with 3+ years of experience in crafting intuitive, user-centric digital experiences. My journey started with a background in Information Technology, fashion design and visual arts, where I honed my eye for aesthetics, detail, and storytelling. Over time, I transitioned into UI/UX design, blending creativity with problem-solving to design seamless digital products that enhance user interactions.
Successful projects
Before I joined the project, Hydro One customers faced constant frustration navigating a complex and outdated portal. Paying bills, updating contact information, or transferring services felt like an impossible task—leading to countless support calls and dissatisfied users.
I stepped in to change that. Through in-depth user research, I uncovered key pain points and streamlined the experience, ensuring that customers could manage their accounts effortlessly. Collaborating with developers and stakeholders, I restructured the information architecture, designed an intuitive interface, and optimised workflows for efficiency.
As a fashion designer, I have always been passionate about making fashion more accessible and sustainable. Through my experience in the industry, I observed how people often buy expensive outfits for special occasions, only to wear them once and let them sit unused in their closets. This insight led me to create Rentify, a peer-to-peer outfit rental platform that promotes affordability and sustainability while allowing users to monetise their wardrobes.
Since this is a personal project, I took a user-centred approach to identify key pain points in the rental process. Many existing platforms focus on luxury rentals, leaving everyday users without an easy and reliable way to borrow or lend outfits. Through user research and surveys, I designed an intuitive and seamless experience that simplifies browsing, renting, listing, and returning outfits.
By leveraging my background in fashion and combining it with my UI/UX expertise, I created Rentify to provide a trustworthy, community-driven solution that transforms the way people access fashion.
